I've been seeing this more and more often. People bringing their dogs into stores, it's ridiculous! Not service dogs either, but people's small breeds. I'm not sure why the employees aren't telling them no.

    Anyone notice this trend?

Yea I saw a woman with a dog at Home Depot a few months back. Actually I saw a little toy dog the time I went before that. The toy dog was in the cart. The other dog was being walked on a leash. No one told them anything.

I was at Costco and saw this family bring their puppy in a shopping cart. I was intentionally watching the employee at the door to see how he would respond. He confronted them, but told them they couldn't have the dog in the cart and had to walk with it on a leash in the store! The whole thing is beyond me. What if the dog defecates while in the store? You know the lazy family is just going to leave it for a worker to clean up.

I'd see this a lot when I would go to Los Angeles. I thought it was just some "LA attitude" thing, but I guess not.

Sometimes at baseball stadiums, they have an event called Dog Day at the Park (Or Bark at the Park), where fans can bring their dogs while they enjoy the game.

I think businesses are so desperate for customers that they are now letting dogs into the store. Personally I don't care since I don't go to stores that much these days since everything can be done online. Blame it on the economy.

I think here it was just a matter of one person bringing their dog in, someone seeing it and thinking its fine and the rest caught like wild fire. The employees probably don't have the nerve or even care to bring it up. It really is a health concern though.

I saw a greeter at Walmart tell a woman to remove her golden retriever from the store as I was heading in. I guess it wasnt a service dog, she just didnt want it left in the car and thought it was perfect,y ok to walk it around the store on a leash.

I worked at Walmart for almost 10 years and most of the time the people were told not to bring their dogs in for health code reasons. I'd see a lot of the mart cart trolls trying to bring their lap dogs in.

I think it's better to bring pets in the store than to leave them in the car. But what's better than both of those things is to just leave them at home.

That's what I was thinking. I mean yes, dogs looooove to take rides, but if your going into a store with a cart you plan on doing more than just running in for one item, in which case doggy shoukd stay at home unless you've got someone outside waiting with the dog in An AC filled car or that can walk them around outside a bit.
