Let me tell ya boy, look at good things about the 80s:

The 80s had NES games? So did the 90s (the 90s had SNES too)
The 80s had Guns N Roses and Metallica? So did the 90s (the 90s had Rage Against The Machine and Pearl Jam too)
The 80s had Cheers? The 90s had episodes of Cheers too

Now the 80s was a good decade, but considering how excessive the 80s nostalgia was in previous years, the 90s are hardly overrated, at least not compared with the 80s.

I don't like most 90s culture, but that's because I had a bad time in the decade. Many people in my age bracket didn't, so they look more fondly on it. The decades treat every person differently. Also, when it comes to the 80s, even when nostalgia for the 80s was popular, it was tempered with mockery and regret in many cases. When it comes to nostalgia for the 90s, there isn't mockery or regret to accompany it. I personally would like to see jokes about 90s hairstyles, fashions and pop culture, but those who are nostalgiac for the 90s seem to like it too much to do that.

The 90's represents a time of opportunity and possibility, the height of marketing and capitalism, and the last decade of childhood innocence.

While the 80's was darkened by crime, aids, and environmental concerns, the 90's was a time of hope and positive thinking; that anything was possible.

There were a lot of things in the 90’s that were stupid like digital pets, dancing baby, the Macarena, baggy jeans, slap bracelets, gum in a tube, hetero sexual males wearing chokers, overalls, JanSport book bags, pump sneakers, pogs, and worst of all…..fanny packs!

Jansport backpacks were just ordinary backpacks. What was wrong with them?
