You can't purchase alcohol in any state under 21. You don't truly have full adult rights in ANY state until the age of 21. They spent 3 years at best vs 1 for me, the MAJORITY of the '90s (a 10 year period) they were a young child, period.
Actually boys enter puberty on average at 11, girls at 10.
LOL and you're even furthering my argument. I had some late '90s early adolescence (that an early '90s born DID NOT at all) as I've said MULTIPLE times now.
85 spent half or at least close to half of the 90s being in puberty, you didn't.
I STILL WAS PARTIALLY A LATE '90S ADOLESCENT, which is my ****ing point.
lol no need to get angry. It's just the way it is. You're a 2000s adolescent.
No I'm a late '90s-mid '00s adolescent. Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No - 1 year 5 months ago

Anybody that spent their 15-20 years mostly in the '00s is more of an '00s adolescent, the later teens are the key.
Whatever decade you are seventeen in is your adolescent decade. Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

Around the world, the terms youth, adolescent, teenager, kid, and young person are interchanged, often meaning the same thing, occasionally differentiated. The term youth also refers to individuals between the ages of 16-24.
Childhood is the age span ranging from birth to adolescence. According to Piaget's theory of cognitive development, childhood consists of two stages: preoperational stage and concrete operational stage. In developmental psychology, childhood is divided up into the developmental stages of toddlerhood (learning to walk), early childhood (play age), middle childhood (school age), and adolescence (puberty through post-puberty).
The term childhood is non-specific and can imply a varying range of years in human development. Developmentally and biologically, it refers to the period between infancy and adulthood. In common terms, childhood is considered to start from birth. Some consider that childhood, as a concept of play and innocence, ends at adolescence.
Adolescence (from Latin: adolescere meaning "to grow up") is a transitional stage of physical and psychological human development generally occurring during the period from puberty to legal adulthood. Physical growth, as distinct from puberty (particularly in males), and cognitive development generally seen in adolescence, can also extend into the early twenties. Thus chronological age provides only a rough marker of adolescence, and scholars have found it difficult to agree upon a precise definition of adolescence.tangspot2 wrote:Mrs. stake you say some nasty on my threads. Although any period of 10 years is a decade, a convenient and frequently referenced interval is based on the tens digit of a calendar year, as in using "1960s" to represent the decade from 1960 to 1969. These references are frequently used to encapsulate popular culture or other widespread phenomena that dominated such a decade. tangspot2 wrote:Mrs. stake you say some nasty on my threads. Some things to note:
1. I'm not sure if you're listing any band or just the most popular but Helmet is not the best example of a 90s band because none of their albums ever reached the top twenty or thirty in the United States album charts (I'm talking about the main chart of course, not Heatseekers or Independent Albums).
2. Coldplay would be a better example for the 00s. They were culturally more relevant than Papa Roach and as you said, Radiohead was also around in the 90s and their 90s material would probably be considered the quintessential albums of their discography.
3. You're right that the 10s are a bad decade, but their is a gold mine beyond the mainstream. You just have to look past the crap that sets a bad influence to today's youth
4. I'm not entirely sure about your kid age range. Three is an iffy age for childhood because you're really still a toddler. On a similar note, eleven and twelve are adolescent years.
I've seen a lot of sites where they said a child was at age 3.Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

The 80s, 90s, and 2000s had their merits. The 2010s are horrible.
Yeah even though I have a wide range of music interest, I listen to a lot of R&B, Pop, an Soul. I also like the "old" stuff. Specifically artist like the Jacksons, Stevie Wonders, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, and the list goes on. So 70's- early 2000's (mainly up to 2003) is where it's at!
In other words, I agree with you on the 2010 music. It is horrible (with the exception of a few songs).

I was born in 1986 and I consider myself a 90s kid. I still remember myself when I was 4 or 5 at the earliest and playing Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. and Double Dragon 1 and 2 for NES. Then in first grade at 6 I watched Beauty and the Beast in the theaters and also got my first glimpse at Street Fighter 2 in the arcades and it looked so amazing. Back then I was used to Nintendo games so when I saw the beauty that was Street Fighter 2 I couldn't believe what I was watching. I believe it was Ken in his red outfit fighting in Chun-Li's stage. I also remember watching Disney's Aladdin for the first time and hearing "A Whole New World" and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I feel I experienced the 90s as fully as a kid can. I was actually truly enjoying life as I played Super Nintendo, Genesis, arcades, etc. and I would frequently go to the mall where I ate fast food at Taco Bell or McDonald's. I would also often eat Burger King Whoppers when they were still $.99 and it was one of my favorite foods ever along with pizza. I consumed a ton of soda and watched a ton of cartoons. Even though I ate unhealthy I was never overweight because I would often be playing outside or on my feet. I would listen to all the music throughout the 90s on the radio on the school bus on my way to and from school. I would sometimes go to the movie theaters and watch a bunch of movies but many I didn't understand because they were adult films. I remember watching "A Goofy Movie" back in 1995 and loving it. I was also big into collecting comic books even though I never really read them. I just liked having them like one would enjoy a stamp collection and just admire the artwork of the front cover as I kept them in good shape inside a plastic protector. I remember TGIF on ABC or whatever it was when all of these shows would come on like Family Matter, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch etc. and I would just lay on the couch absorbing the shows. Man, did I watch a bunch of Boy Meets World and other 90s shows and I also ate a ton of cereal. In the late 90s (199
I finally got cable so I had many more choices. I would watch a ton of Nickolodean, Cartoon Network, VH1 and MTV. When I wasn't watching cable I was playing my Playstation and NFL Blitz, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Mega Man X4, etc. were my favorites. To me the 90s lifestyle and vibe ended after summer 2000 even though for many years since then I was fooling myself and always thinking about the 90s. For a long time into the 2000s I even only had systems and games from the 90s and the SEGA Dreamcast was the newest system I had for many years. I would also go on Youtube and watch stuff from the 90s but once the 90s are over and you are no longer a kid with a clean slate then it's hard to fool yourself that things are as good as they used to be. Even though I was young for most of the 90s I seriously did so much during those times and I think I am one of the most ultimate 90s kids out there. There is so much more I can say about my 90s experiences but I would write forever.

I also thought I would just post this:
I hate it when people try to tell you that you aren't a 90's kid, just because you were born somewhere throughout the 90's. I can understand if you were born in the late 90's (because it would be sort of hard for you to remember much of what went on during this period, though everyone is different so, who knows).
However, technically, if you were born in the 90's, then you are a 90's kid (or at least a 90's baby
).
BUT, most importantly, if you were old enough to remember what you actually experienced (shows, movies, music, public interests, etc.) during those years, then there should not be a problem! You are a 90's kid!
I was born in 93', and I remember plenty of the 90's thrills. I admit, many shows and movies I did not find an interest in because I was too young to understand meanings, concepts, and plots. So, I considered them all boring. Shooot, there were even shows that I ALWAYS watched, and I still didn't get what they were fully about.
But, now as an adult, I watch some of these things and find them truly nostalgic! If anything, my misunderstanding of these things as a child only made me more attached to them as an adult. (Perfect example: I HATED Batman. Especially Batman The Animated Series. I thought it was too serious and dark. It was also more adult-oriented, so I had a lack of understanding. Now I LOVE it! I'm actually a huge DC fan now!

)
Lol I know I'm rambling, but my point: only you know what you really experienced. Whether they are vague or crystal clear, your memories are YOUR memories.
