Hey, guys! So, check this out:

I am currently enjoying DC. I want to get into reading the comics and watching some series, but there is SOOO much to choose from! So many comics, and issues, and heroes, etc., etc. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what I need to be reading or watching? Is there any amazing DC material out there that I should be watching/reading?

The material can be retro, new, batman, red arrow, goofy, serious, long, short, ANYTHING DC-related. I'm open for all opinions. :D

Feel free to post photos if you have to (just so I can get a good idea of what I'm getting into). :)

Thank You! And I will definitely be willing to return the favor!

Does it have to be D.C.? Marvel and Image have some great books, especialy from the late 80's early 90's.

You can't go wrong with Batman. I like The Animated Series and Beyond. (I haven't seen Brave & Bold, so maybe you can go wrong. But those other two are definitely awesome cartoons.)

For comics, Frank Miller's Batman: Year One and Dark Knight Returns are among the most highly regarded comics stories ever made, and they completely changed the industry.

I also like trade paperbacks of the first 40 or 50 issues of Superman (Action Comics) and Batman or Detective Comics.

Like bklynbren, I was more of a Marvel fan growing up. But DC has had some pretty good stuff. If you like weird or goth-y stuff, check out their "Vertigo" imprint. Sandman and Death were the popular characters there.

Here are some good ones from Marvel, Image and Darkhorse.

          X-Cutioner's Song, Marvel
          Secret Wars, Marvel
          The Infinity Gauntlet, Marvel
          Wolverine, Marvel
Spiderman 2099 was cool, I think they did the same for Punisher, and Dr. Doom.
          Spawn, Image
          Youngbloods, Image
          Wildcats, Image
          The Max, Image
          Magnus the Robot Fighter, darkhorse.

I guess it can be Marvel too. I'm just really siked about the DC stuff, but that'll be great too! I really appreciate the oldies, also, so that'll work. :)

Okay, sounds great! I had U-verse for a couple of months, and would always see Batman Beyond on. I watched half an episode and thought it was pretty cool. And, true, even I know you can't go wrong with Batman!

But, thanks for your input! I'll check some of these things out. Appreciate it!

Does anyone know of any good Red Arrow/Arsenal/Speedy/Roy Harper type material. Comics, series, movies, what ever?
