What's with all the inaccurate information lately? For example, TheMusicdewd18 suggested in a thread that YouTube was a part of 2004's culture (you read that right not two thousand and nine, or two thousand and seven but two thousand and FOUR. Why post information that is clearly full of nonsense? It is nothing short of a complete insult to history and that particular example is a spit of disrespect to 2004 as a year.

        Hello, Sensation1.

        I have multiple questions.

        1. I don't recall seeing the post in question. Where is it? Link, please.

        2. This is one example. Are you able to provide any more? Since this is such a widespread problem. "all" "lately", should be easy to expound on this.

        3. (related to #2) Being someone who has only made two posts on this board. How much of this issue have you observed? And why do you care so much? It's not like this website is a major reference point.

        4. What is your reference for the assertion you've made? Youtube launched and was open for posting videos by May, 2005. Not 2004, but also not 2007. I remember the launch. It was exciting at the time, as many people were trying to make a breakthrough in the video sharing space. By 2007, it was commonplace, well-known, old hat; in my experience, by then it wasn't changing culture nearly as much.

        5. (related to #4) Why are you so enraged about this? It's probably a simple case of misremembering the actual year. Rather than an intentional misdirection. I know of some other accounts here that seemed to do nothing but disinformation (mostly gone now, thankfully) but musicdewd doesn't really seem like one of those.

          @ stake n sheak

Ever heard of "don't shoot the messanger"? Attacking the sideline is useless to the cause.

The 2004 comment would be from the "Was 2004 more like....or...." thread. The 2007 statement here was probably more a reference to the fact that YouTube was a big part of culture that year regardless of whether or not it actually started then.

TheWalletUnknown also had apparent research problems in the recently made Real 90s kids thread.

Not "shooting the messenger," just seeking some clarification. I didn't know what this thread was about, since I hadn't seen the other one. As for "the cause", yours seems to be different than mine, so that's alright. Finally, anybody talking about "research" here is in the wrong place, imo. Better off on a website with information vetting and standards, or where anybody with only one account cares about that. But thank you for being so astute as to clarify the notes of another new user with high probability. You haven't even been here a full day, and you can already do that! I expect you will go far here.

Stake you are right about this not being the right place to do research and it sounds like the others who are commenting on this thread have never heard of an honest mistake
