The screams and panic were heartbreaking enough.

Why do people yell and scream so much? All they're doing is working themselves up into a frenzy. I know it's a natural disaster and is traumatizing but quit screaming at the ceiling and do something productive for yourself in that situation!!

To be fair they were mostly little kids and a couple of women. I do think the teachers should have tried harder to keep their cool though. When kids see adults freaking out they tend to as well. If you stay cool and make it seem like it isn't a big deal they will follow. A lot of the fears that kids get are the fault of adults. Take getting a shot at the doctor. Kids tend to freak out when they get a shot because the parents make a big deal about it. They'll talk about it the whole time on the way there, in the waiting room and in the examination room. The parents tone, facial expressions and reactions will be different than how they normally act. Of course the kid is going to develop anxiety and freak out when the time comes.

Right. I just wait for the right moment and make myself a milkshake.
