There are some good things about 1989 to be fair. For one, kids would actually be kids instead of brats on Iphones.

definitley 1989..i'm an avid fan of the 80's..lived them and loved them.for one thing, society was a whole lot friendlier back then..i was in my 30's back then so i remember them VERY clearly! yeah definitely 1989..but with the knowledge that i have now and i'd want a friend to be able to go with me.if i could live through 1989 and come back to the present, that would be really cool.

1989 for sure. Back in 1989 is when my family and I emigrated to the United States when I was 3 so I would definitely love to go back to that time. To be honest I don't remember anything when I was 3 and I don't remember the emigration process. My family and I stayed in Italy for 3 months I believe and Austria for a month and I don't remember a single thing!

I rather escape to the mid 90's when i was born so i can grow up with everything pop culture that i grew up with and the pop culture i did not from Star Wars to the battle of the animated musicals that came out in the decade
Hoping to explore pop culture from the 20th Century with you

Definitely 1989. In May of that year, I had just gotten out of the Army and just turned 21, so I partied my ass off. I had plenty of money saved and wasn't in any immediate need of finding a job. I spent that summer at our cabin on a remote lake partying, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. 1989 was one of the best years of my life!

I was born in 89, not that I remember it obvs.

Would say 89 as there were no music artists named Kesha, Nicki Minaj or Justin Bieber, and no TV shows named TOWIE.

I know one thing I would love about going back to 1989 is having good times with family that are now too sick or deceaced.

I'm pretty sure if the CIA even took you seriously, they would want to know just how you knew what was going to happen. You might even be locked up!

And besides this thread is about 1989, not 2001.

1989, I was 23 then. Dunno if I could stop 9/11, but I'd try to change my life with the knowledge I have now and I'd warn Mom about her inflammatory breast cancer she will get in 2013, she passed in November.

Thanks, it is hard. It was IBC, Inflammatory Breast Caner, which is very aggressive. She was triple negative meaning the drugs they use to fight it will or did not work.

That's a tough one. No modern technology like cell phones, internet, Youtube (I think I'd die a little inside without YouTube, LOL), BUT all of the things I love and miss about the 80s, early 90s like less cynicism amongst people, a more peaceful way of life (pre-9/11), spending a lot more time with my grandparents before their illnesses (now both gone), and the fun things I remember from my childhood like video rental stores, restaurants and chain stores that have looong since closed down...yeah, I think I'd want to live back in '89 for a while, but not permanently. Maybe a couple of months.

It depends on if it is on a loop or not. But I think we already may be on a loop, just seemingly a different year. Memories are the best way to relive a year.
