If it did, many of us would not be here (since our parents would be more concerned with their "stuff" than growing their family). There is no doubt that we would long for the technology of today... the internet being a big missing piece. But I have long felt that the internet has been a net negative for us as species. And I think we will see that play out to a larger extent as the years progress.

Plus it is much more fun being a Batman fan in 2013 with Nolan's Batman movies, Arkham Games, and Batman: The Animated Series.
