Do they still do this in laugh tracks nowadays? Because most of the time when I hear the audience applauding at the end of a sitcom it is usually those older ones from the 70's-90's, usually the British ones. Nowadays, I never hear it. For example, Two & A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory don't have applause in their laugh tracks unless it's during a hysterical scene or a "woo" scene.

I'm not too sure about that, but I'm not really a fan of laugh tracks, especially when the audience is going nuts over a lame joke. That 70s Show's laugh track is so annoying.

The laws of sitcom audience applause have changed.
