Excellent remake of the 1958 Sci-fi horror film and I saw this 3 times in theaters as a kid, my favorite remake ever and great special effects.

I remember watching this movie on T.V., it used to come on all the time. I haven't seen it many years. Didn't that crazy priest keep a piece of the blob for himself?

I don't think it was excellent, but it was pretty good. The ending was awesome.

I was happy to find this DVD at a local thrift shop the other day. I've been meaning to buy it for quite a while, so I wasn't going to pass up a copy for a dollar.

Anyway, yeah, it's a good movie. I think I prefer the original just a bit more, though.

I prefer Beware of the Blob (1972). :)

I see why Larry Hagman never directed again.

I've never seen the 1972 version. Thanks bassman21.

Really got into the 1988 version. To me it was a fresh take on the original without being a slave to the storyline. The effects were nicely done and the blob itself was more actively engaged. In fact the whole film had a quicker pace than the original, imo.

Everyone involved in the 1988 film, from lead Kevin Dillon to director Chuck Russell, does a great job of creating the right atmosphere for this film. An interesting addition to the genre of eighties horror movies.

Probably the best horror/sci-fi remake ever
