Sorry for the short notice everyone.

Friday, May 31st, Asteroid 1998 QE2 (approx. 2 miles across) will make its closest approach to Earth just before 2pm pacific standard time.

At 3.6 million miles away, the asteroid as it passes by will only be visible with telescopes. NASA's JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) site should have the latest news and photos on Friday.

I want to restate the time of closest approach via NASA:

"The closest approach of the asteroid occurs on May 31 at 1:59 p.m. Pacific (4:59 p.m. Eastern / 20:59 UTC)"

You can check updates on asteroid 1998 QE2 at NASA's JPL Asteroid Watch page.

Well, since the Earth is still here, guess I'll keep looking for a job.

Btw, did you guys notice how that asteroid kinda looked like the Death Star?
