    		 About a couple of months ago I was looking high and low for the extension cable for my PlayStation 2 controller and couldn't find it ANYWHERE! So, I logged onto eBay and ordered another one, assuming that the missing cable was gone for good. About a week or so after receiving the replacement cable, I was doing some cleaning in preparation for moving when the "missing" cable turned up...now I have two of them!
    How many of you have misplaced something and after looking all over for it, assuming it was lost for good, decided to go and buy another one, only for the "lost" item to eventually turn up shortly thereafter??? It has happened to me on numerous occasions.

      		 I lost a small maglite for at least 5 years. It fell in the box spring of our couch.

        		 Sometimes I'll buy extra stuff or I'll buy multiples of something in case I lose it.

          I remember my mom doing the same thing I've done...go out and buy a replacement of something she misplaced and then eventually having the misplaced item turn up, which used to annoy my dad big time, because he always thought it was money wasted, since the item she misplaced would very likely eventually be found.

            		 Oh yes several times.

            My parents bought me a Zippo lighter back in the mid 90s when I smoked. I lost the lighter a few months later. About 4 year later I found it under the seat of my truck when I was cleaning it out to sell it. I still have it to this day, but have little use for it.

                		 I lost my Halloween II (1981 version) DVD once. It may have been stolen, I'm not sure. So I ended up having to go to Wal-Mart to get another copy.

                  		 I misplace stuff constantly. Just the other day I took something from the first floor to the second floor. Then I went down to the first floor, picked up another thing, and spent ten minutes looking for the first thing.

                  And yes, I have repurchased things. Although in those cases, they don't usually reappear (except tools).

                    		 Yeah, I'm terrible at keeping up with stuff. I think I've left my phone in every restaurant in the area. There's no telling how many flash drives I've lost in my lifetime.
