Yes. I've used the site to confirm release dates and countries of origin. IMDb is very useful for cast listings too. I spend the most time reading the comments posted by users. Some of the comments are very useful, especially for old movies that were first seen in childhood. A lot of good stuff gets posted when users compare what they remember as a kid to a more recent viewing as an adult.

i just mostly use it to look up things like actresses, what movies they have been in as well as getting movie plots or get an idea on what a movie is about

I don't think I'd want to be a member there. The people are too uptight.

That's a good point crow, when I first started using the site back in 2009 there sure were a lot of stuffed shirts there. Without a sense of humor sites like IMDb can feel like a funeral home.

All the time. I visit it almost every time I watch a full movie.

IMDb is a great way to follow a star's career path, like Lloyd Bridges for example, especially when that star has done both movies and television over several years.

Most people know Lloyd Bridges as a movie star, but I remember him from his ground-breaking television series "Sea Hunt".

I'm a member of IMDBPro. I've been trying to get in contact with the agents of celebrities for interviews for the site that way...Unfortunately, every Oscar winner's agent I've contacted has said that the person is busy and unable to do interviews. I'm still hoping to land an interview with an Oscar winner.

And it's a good way to find out what upcoming movies the actors/actresses will appear in.

Around the time I discovered RJ, I was a regular on the IMDB boards. It was fun while it lasted, but I spent too much time defending things I cared only a little bit about, to total trolls.

I remember when I took a film class in 2003 and the teacher told us about the website. She also told use what Netflix was back then too.

We normally use it to settle disputes like which movie made more money or who played in what.

I started using it in 2002 I think. I remember I randomly looked up Jonathan Brandis in November of 2003 and found out he had killed himself just a few days before.

I frequent the site. The message boards are the worst of the worst as far as trolls go but I like to go there after watching a movie to see if anyone else has pointed out similar things they liked or that annoyed them.
                                    :)

Yes, I like to do that too. I watched "First Spaceship on Venus" recently and I was wondering if anyone on IMDb liked it as much as me. Some of the comments were very funny and many pointed out stuff that I missed, so I had to watch the movie again, lol.

I've loved IMDB ever since I discovered it in 2005. I don't know how long it had been around before that. I enjoy reading the trivia about TV shows/movies and the people who appeared in them.
