Angry Birds by itself was not transformative of anything. It didn't drive an entire platform, the way that say, Tetris, did. Smart phones were already incredibly popular. It was all anybody could talk about for weeks, not months or years.
The change of American presidents is one part of what shapes things, but practically speaking, the current administration doesn't seem to handle domestic matters much differently than the previous one. So I'd say no, that doesn't mean a whole new era. It's nothing like the Reagan administration contrast with Carter, or Clinton with Bush I.
