The debate continues, what's the first Bugs Bunny cartoon?
I agree with Jerry Beck over at Cartoon Research, Bugs first appeared on April 30th, 1938 in a short called "Porky's Hare Hunt".
And that my friends make Bugs Bunny 75 years old!
Turner Classic Movies (TCM), added a 75th Anniversary tribute to it's Movie Festival last week featuring Jerry Beck live to add commentary to the festivities.
While there may still be questions about when the Bugs Bunny we all know and love actually came into being, the character continues to be the most famous of all the WB cartoon creations and makes quite the mascot for the studio even today.
It's been awhile since my last post of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. An old favorite of mine is "Hare Way to the Stars" from 1958. Love the interaction between Bugs and Marvin the Martian. Also featured, the odd "big-bird" style "martian goon squad" that Marvin sends to capture Bugs, I just love those crazy guys, lol.
This cartoons stands out for its imaginative backdrop setting in space, very well done and visually appealing. Feel free to post your own Bugs Bunny favorites. It's All Good Folks!
The Eldorado is dead. Long live the Eldorado.
