        		 Very sad. While regarded as terrorist attacks Aurora and Sandy Hooks were the result of mental illness. This has the markings of an extremist group that probably did it for political reasons. This means this is the first attack of this type since 9/11.

        BTW light travels faster than sound that was why they saw the explosion before they heard it.

            		 I think people automatically think of the middle east when they hear the word, "Terrorism." By definition a terrorist can be anyone performing these acts really. I just hope they find out quick who did this and why. I'm afraid some group will claim responsibility who didn't do it just to seem legit.

                		 This is exactly the goal of terrorism... to get you so scared to even leave your house because every time you go out there could be a potential attack. And basically the government and/or media drums up more fear than the actual terrorists do by constantly saying what could have happened.

                    Agreed. But these attacks constitute only one of many reasons why I feel the way I do about cities. Others include: traffic, pollution, crowds, noise, etc.

                        		 The preliminary reports were very misleading. I read yesterday shortly after the bombings occurred, that they found several bombs that didn't go off, then I hear later they couldn't find anything!

                              Possibly. There was a fight among gangbangers last year at the local 4th of July bash, which cancelled the event.

                                		 What an unbelievable week of news. Just when it looked like the second Boston bombing suspect would spend the night on the run, they corner him in a boat just outside the official search perimeter.

                                A tip Friday night placed the second suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, in a backyard located in Watertown. After what seemed like hours, 19-year-old Tsarnaev was captured and taken to a hospital in serious condition.

                                What a relief for the people of Watertown and a chance for everyone to reflect on what must be an awful week for the Boston area.

                                  		 At work yesterday this guy came in while I was on the loading dock. "How about that Boston marathon stuff, huh?" he asked, by way of conversation. I don't keep up with the news too much. I knew about this but not up to the minute stuff. Non-committally I answered, yeah, pretty crazy. "Fuckin Muslims," he went on. What??? I thought I had heard about a white suspect but I wasn't sure. But that made me a little uncomfortable. Fortunately this guy works for a different company in the building and not mine. "If they want a war, let's give em one," he went on before moving to another topic. Good lord. Offensive. This was just some nut, not part of anything organized and certainly not the Nation of Islam or whatever. I didn't really say anything, being again uninformed at the moment and not knowing this guy too well.

                                  Anyway I'm glad to hear at least these horrible kids are eastern European, white, and apparently not religious (according to their father). We don't need more people getting prejudiced about race and religion and stuff.
