It's an unfortunate thing, and something I have no doubt Vertex wishes there was a quick fix for.
I think it's especially dangerous for custom built sites like Retro Junk to be "re-vamped" or "converted" because there is no magic button to press that changes things without data loss or other programming issues.
It is something that concerns me a bit with RetroDaze, but my plan is to, well, never do that. I will add new features and fix existing issues, but a total conversion into something else will never happen.
Now, if a site is built on pre-existing code, like a Wordpress or Joomla site or some other familiar build, you can change things quite easily, and without fear of losing much of anything. That is their advantage. But you are also limited greatly in what you can do with them.
