A friend of mine is smoking again and this time he's using an electronic cigarette or e-cig as it's called. I think this is a bad idea but it looks like its spreading.

While I could be wrong about all this, something about e-cigs just dosen't seem right to me.

I heard that electronic cigarettes won't give you cancer.

My friend switched from real cigarettes to e-cigs. At least he doesn't stink like smoke anymore but it just seems like another drug delivery system to me.
All my friends get to choose whatever lifestyle suits them. Smoking in all its forms is a bad choice, in my opinion, but as adults we each choose our own path through life.

E-cigs are for pansies. Do real tobacco.

If this is true, sign me up. As dumb as it may sound to some, I dearly miss smoking.

I really worry about these because they are unregulated thus far. They are not free of all the toxins that regular cigarettes have and I have no doubt they still pose a threat to children and pregnant women because I am sure they can still come into contact with the chemicals.

I'm not seeing anything about cancer risks, but I'm still worried that e-cigs may cause harm in other ways.

I've never tried smoking. Probably never will. I'm worried about the risks. But these e-cigs might cause cancer. Advertisements don't always tell the truth.

Not to say that the ads or industry talk are true, but it makes sense that they would be less harmful. It's believable. But it hasn't been proven. I've only heard of two studies, one says they are and one says they're not. I think the FDA has no interest in proving they are less harmful, and the manufacturers, who are mostly if not all in China, don't care.

I was looking on the Blu website and it looks like Blu e-cigs was acquired by that mega-tobacco group, Lorillard, Inc.

The site warns that e-cigs have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

                          It's certainly not a priority.
