Imma' try to contact Turner, FUNimation, & Cartoon Network's YouTube channels and spread my ideas. If you seriously believe THIS can be made into an official DVD set, then good lord, do you need a reality check. A DVD set like this, containing... oh I don't know... EVERY Saturday morning cartoon from the 90s and 2000s is unrealistic. This would basically be a whole tangled web of copyright issues. Second, you can't fit 40 episodes of TV shows on one DVD without heavily compressing the quality to make it look like shit. Especially if you're trying to make room for "extras". Then again, I'm analyzing what's obviously an aspie thread. I can imagine being a company executive and laughing my ass off at this attempt of a "copyrighted outline".

I would think that the basic companies/networks own most (if not all of the shows listed). Such as Nickelodeon, Disney, Turner/Cartoon Network/Warner Bros, PBS/WHRO, etc. Am I missing anything?

Example, a favorite toon appears on Nickelodeon. The broadcast rights were signed by Viacom after an agreement was reached with the content owner, Haim Saban. Too bad that its not always that easy. Content ownership is sometimes hard to pin down. Or ownership changes in the blink of an eye. Who do you sign an agreement with and for how much? Will your agreement conflict with a prior agreement signed with another distributor? My point is you are free to make a cartoon library for yourself. DVD sets you make available for others - that's a different kettle of fish.

daash 1 year 8 months ago Posts: 74	To put this in a way you might understand... Let's say show A is owned by Warner and show B is owned by Disney, and going even further, show C is owned by Sony. Follow me? Show A-C (aside from being owned by different companies) also have different production companies and distributors. Network 1 wants to play show A-C on their channel. They BUY the rights to show A-C. Another company who wants to make a DVD of this show, buys the rights as well. What you are proposing would be like if McDonalds added Whoppers to their menu and used the King from Burger King. The reason that this is impossible (yes impossible by the current set of copyright laws) is the same reason many other shows have not made it onto DVD yet. If you need further explanation, please refer to why the original Batman TV series from the 60's isn't on DVD yet. I'm sorry you spent so much time making that list. I would advise you make it for yourself and never mention it to anybody. You are seriously not only wasting your time, but anybody's time you are trying to contact (if they even bother to contact you). What you created is more of a favorite list of cartoons compiled in such a way.
