OK so TV and music isn't as good today as it was in the 90s. What else from the 90s was better that didn't involve TV or the radio?

When you look at the bigger picture things are overall better today. We have made great strides in science and technology. People are living long, crime is down and people are overall nicer. Yes they really are. Abuse of power isn't tolerated like it used to be, race relations are better, safety standards have improved. Even the very poor today have most of the things people had in the 90s (cable TV, DVD, microwave, A/C). You can get most of these things next to nothing second hand.

I'm always baffled by this. Children's television went downhill in the 2000s but I'm baffled that people keep adding reality tv to lists of negative things. On the contrary, I would say it makes the 2000s better than the 90s for mainstream television.

    Look at this line-up:

    - The Amazing Race
    - Hell's Kitchen
    - Playing It Straight
    - The Biggest Loser
    - The Apprentice
    - Fear Factor
    - Beauty & The Geek
    - America's Next Top Model

    and of course, Survivor.

That whole list is pure crap and yet another reason why the 90s are superior to the 00s. Also here's another list that proves how great the 90s are.

    Honey Boo Boo
    Real Housewives
    Duck Dynasty
    All the crap on VH1
Jersey Shore and the other "MTV in name only" crap.
    Call of the Wildman.
    The Kardashian sluts.

Now I know that these abortions started in the 2010s but I think I've made my point. The only 00s reality show that I enjoyed was America's Got Talent and I don't even watch that anymore. TV in general is basically dead and buried and it all started in the mid 00s.

Also I'd rather watch Attack of the Killer Tomatoes than freakin' Ultimate Spider Man or Johnny Test.

No, you've made no point at all. Did you even watch Playing It Straight? Did you know that the finale of the first season of Survivor had nearly 52 million viewers just in the United States? Somehow I don't think you could answer yes to both of those questions. I could very easily sit here and say "Rocky Horror Picture Show sucks" even though I haven't actually seen the movie.

I've never even heard of Playing it Straight, and does Survivor still get that many viewers today? I don't think so. If you're a fan of all these reality shows then more power to you.

Well, this is my point. A simple maths equation:

You saying that a whole list is pure crap + There's at least one show you haven't even heard of let alone seen = ignorant

No need to resort to insults. At least the shows you listed are way better than the ones I listed, so there's that.

I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just telling you like it is. It would be like me calling 2015 crap right now, even though I haven't lived a second in it.

The way things are going right now it might be lol. But let's just agree to disagree, there's no question that Survivor was an original and interesting idea, the first season was entertaining, I will give you that, but now it's just become way to stale and boring. I'm also sorry that I haven't heard of Playing it Straight seeing as how it only lasted 8 episodes lol. I read the summary, interesting idea though. My closing argument would be this, back in the early 2000s there was a lot of original and interesting ideas for reality shows, but now they've become repetitive and boring and have devolved into the crap we have today and have killed once great channels like MTV, VH1, and E!, and I think there's no denying that lol. So what do you say we call truce and just agree to disagree?

Look, I'm not debating you on reality shows today, but this is the '10s not the '00s. That would be like claiming a band to be a negative of the 70s just because you thought their 2009 album sucked.

Only guessing, but maybe people are getting insecure about what I'm writing. In truth, I never said that they had to like or dislike this show or that show because that's their viewpoint. But I am saying that calling a whole list of shows crap when there is a least one you haven't seen is a little ignorant. How can you pass judgement on a show you haven't seen?

Political correctness sucked. It was actually probably worse in the '90s than it is now.

I don't know if I agree but because of the violence plague in America things are worse now

The numbers actually say that America is much more peaceful today than not only in the 90s, but any decade since the 60s. And globally speaking this is the most peaceful time in history by some measures.

I think the biggest thing that was missing from the 90s was fast internet connection and the affordability of computers. Other than that the 90s had everything.
