One thing that would be hard is eating healthy. The 80's and 90's were really all about both fast food and junk food.
Going to the grocery store you'd be hard pressed to find anything sugar free or without corn syrup. For bread you had white/wheat and that's about it.
Also, you could forget about vegetarian options. If you ate out, you got a salad and that's it. I'm always surprised but the increasing amount of options we're given as a consumers today.
Second, the music. Sure grunge was awesome, but how the hell are you supposed to dance to all that pop stuff? It's no wonder school dances were awkward when you were expected to bust a move to Celine Dion, Hansen, or Brittney Spears.
I couldn't imagine going to a club back then when the hottest dance was the macarena lol
1. The 90s was cool for fast food. What a great time to go to Pizza Hut.
2. Macarena was awesome. Also, what's wrong with just listening to pop music?
3. Salad is still better than nothing. If you are hungry, just get two salads. Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No - 1 year 8 months ago

My father's death, constant bullying by my fellow students, mental and physical health issues, multiple school transfers, and some time spent in a mental hospital. It's because of that that I don't have the enjoyment of the 90s that so many on here and the Internet in general have. That's how I got into liking 80s culture...As an escape from the personal problems that weighed me down in the 90s.
The things you mentioned could've very easily happened in other decades, including the 80s.Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

I know they could've happened in other decades, but these all happened to me in the 90s. I've always felt that your experiences in a decade can affect the way you feel about it. That's just my opinion, though...I'm not proclaiming it as truth. Since all those things happened to me in the 90s, I don't have the positive feelings towards the decade that many other people on the Internet do. Are you sure you want to delete this post? OK so TV and music isn't as good today as it was in the 90s. What else from the 90s was better that didn't involve TV or the radio?
When you look at the bigger picture things are overall better today. We have made great strides in science and technology. People are living long, crime is down and people are overall nicer. Yes they really are. Abuse of power isn't tolerated like it used to be, race relations are better, safety standards have improved. Even the very poor today have most of the things people had in the 90s (cable TV, DVD, microwave, A/C). You can get most of these things next to nothing second hand.
I'm always baffled by this. Children's television went downhill in the 2000s but I'm baffled that people keep adding reality tv to lists of negative things. On the contrary, I would say it makes the 2000s better than the 90s for mainstream television.
Look at this line-up:

- Hell's Kitchen
- Playing It Straight
- The Biggest Loser
- The Apprentice

That whole list is pure crap and yet another reason why the 90s are superior to the 00s. Also here's another list that proves how great the 90s are.
Honey Boo Boo
Real Housewives
Duck Dynasty
All the crap on VH1
Jersey Shore and the other "MTV in name only" crap.
Call of the Wildman.
The Kardashian sluts.
Now I know that these abortions started in the 2010s but I think I've made my point. The only 00s reality show that I enjoyed was America's Got Talent and I don't even watch that anymore. TV in general is basically dead and buried and it all started in the mid 00s.

Now I know that these abortions started in the 2010s but I think I've made my point. The only 00s reality show that I enjoyed was America's Got Talent and I don't even watch that anymore. TV in general is basically dead and buried and it all started in the mid 00s.
Also I'd rather watch Attack of the Killer Tomatoes than freakin' Ultimate Spider Man or Johnny Test.
No, you've made no point at all. Did you even watch Playing It Straight? Did you know that the finale of the first season of Survivor had nearly 52 million viewers just in the United States? Somehow I don't think you could answer yes to both of those questions. I could very easily sit here and say "Rocky Horror Picture Show sucks" even though I haven't actually seen the movie.
I've never even heard of Playing it Straight, and does Survivor still get that many viewers today? I don't think so. If you're a fan of all these reality shows then more power to you.
Well, this is my point. A simple maths equation:
You saying that a whole list is pure crap + There's at least one show you haven't even heard of let alone seen = ignorant
Actually, he is right. All the shows he listed above are pure crap and just proof that TV sucks now. And don't get me started on MTV. The whole point of MTV was too show music videos and all things music related. Isn't why it was called Music Television in the first place?
Then the question to you...did you see all those shows? If not, then it's like me calling 2015 crap when I don't even know what it's going to be like yet. You have a point about MTV but I'm not talking about MTV, I'm talking about shows like Survivor. Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No
