    		 I love retro games but I just don't have the time to pour hours and hours into a game anymore, I use Game Genie codes. I love Star Wars and think the SNES games are great but crap if I can't get anywhere in them without cheating. I love retro so much that I bought a Pandora but don't use it as much because no one builds cheating into their emulators. The whole indi handheld thing, I've bought the GP2X before the Pandora, seems to hate cheating. I remember saying something about it on the gp32x forums and I was flamed into the ground.

    Modern games I never put on easy but I do put on medium so I still like a challenge. In retro I just don't think infinite lives takes that much away from the challenge.

    So what is everyones stance on the subject? Are you a purist that does not believe in cheating or is your life just too busy now and cheat at retro games to see the entire game through?

      		 I didn't have a Game Genie when I was a kid. I kind of wanted one then because I thought it sounded totally awesome, now I do think it's cheating. Not to say I necessarily avoid cheating, I just don't use Game Genie codes. If I had one when I was a kid, I probably would.

      Now, I don't know about Pandora, but on my PSP I use NesterJ which does use Game Genie if you want. Mainly the way I cheat with that is making use of the "rewind" feature. I just got knocked into a pit by a Medusa head? Hold the L shoulder button and rewind through the last few seconds of play. I feel dirty when I do it though!

      On my Dreamcast I have NesterDC and it can also do Game Genie stuff there. It doesn't have the rewind though. When I cheat on that it's by using save states. See if you can find a version of Nester for your Pandora. I'm not familiar with the machine but there might be one out there.

        		 I tried to use it for Donkey Kong Country 2, but it erased my file. Other than that, it's been pretty helpful in some of the games I played.

          		 I never owned or used a Game Genie back when first playing the old NES/SNES games. I only play them via emulation these days, and only "cheat" I use now is quick saving whenever I want. Heheheheh. I already played these games legit back when so minimal guilt!

            		 Actually we still have one. My sisters were always using it with our Nintendo games but you had to make sure it was in right or the TV screen would blink on and off repeatedly. They thought it was so cool to play Super Mario and be able to play with the music or eat the bad guys. But some of the codes did weird things like the never ending underwater level.

              		 You could do the never ending water level without a game genie. :)

                  		 All the time! Still got it next to me in a drawer in my desk.

                  Used it on mario bros 3 mostly. racoon suit, etc, etc.

                  Honestly can't remember using it on any other games.

                    At least until Super Mario World came out. :P

                    Nah, I love both games and SMB3 was def one of the greatest ever.
