I know this isn't really considered "retro", but this has been in my head for quite some time. You guys have probably heard about the feature length 2D animated Mickey Mouse movie that's in development at the Walt Disney Animation Studios, right? Well, I've been thinking about who would be a good composer for this potential movie. Here's the list of potential composers that came into my head.
Randy Newman - He's responsible for composing the scores for a lot of Pixar movies, including the Toy Story trilogy.
Michael Giacchino - Not only is he well know for doing the music score for The Incredibles, but he also did the music for two Mickey-related works, including the Sega Genesis game Mickey Mania, and the recent Goofy short How to Hook Up Your Home Theater. I personally thing he'd be the best fit out of this list.
Alan Menken - I'm sure a lot of people are probably gonna pick this guy, seeing how he did the music for a lot of Disney movies in the 90's, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas.
That's my list, which one of these three composers to you think would do a better job composing the music for the potential Mickey Mouse movie? What other composers can you come up with?
