Does anyone remember seeing any episodes of this sci-fi TV series on the subject of parallel universes?

You can buy all the seasons on iTunes as well... but it really craps out after Jerry O'Connell left. If you liked this you need to watch Fringe... but you need to start at the beginning of the series to "get it" all. They currently in season 5 which they say is the final season... and yes it's a smart move because it's starting to crap out as well.

I've been watching occasionally on The Hub. I can't seem to get into this show.

Yeah, if you want to have an entertaining experience, only watch Sliders seasons 1 thru 3. Seasons 4 and 5 are complete crap!

Do they manage to get back to their own version of Earth at the end of season 5?
              Does anybody know?

I used to love this show before it changed networks. After that half of the original cast was gone and the entire feel of the show changed. I just lost interest.

Somehow I could never get into this show, despite having been a fan of similar shows like quantum leap & voyagers.

I don't know how it ended, but things became so convoluted after the show changed networks that it was hard to tell where anybody belonged. It turned out the Quinn wasn't even originally from our Earth, and his brother who still lived in his original dimension joined that cast so who knows who was really trying to get to where in the end.

I watched it as a kid and made it about halfway through the second seaason, if I recall. It's on Netflix, I think.

I agree. The seasons after they lost the Prof. went downhill. The episodes after they replaced Quinn with his brother got even worse.
Eventually the only original cast member was Rembrandt The cryin' man.

None of them got home permanently. Although they did make it home twice, but just briefly. Quinn opened his front gate and noticed it didn't squeak.Based on that, he thought they were in the wrong world. His mother just had it fixed. The second time, the woman that replaced Wade was allergic to the pollen (or something) in the air. They had to slide away or she would've suffocated.

The professor died. Quinn got lost between dimensions. Wade got tired of sliding and settled down.
The final episode they arrived in a world where Sliders was a tv show and they had plenty of fans( it wasn't this world. With all the cast changes the show was unwatchable). They decided that world was good enough. Rembrandt decided to continue on his own. (maybe he wanted to find that kid he left in Dino world-i dunno)

Sliders was on Fox but I think it was cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons and then do to fan protest it was picked up by the scify channel but the budget was cut in half so the special F/X started to look cheesy and the cast changes and storylines were weird. I started getting tired when they added the Kromaggs(?) Those aliens that were also sliding between dimensions trying to take over every version of Earth.
