Anyone going to be affected by Hurricane Sandy? I'm in PA right next to Jersey so we'll definitely experience some of it. I just hope the power isn't out for days like last October. People are camping out for generators.

I live in Georgia, though I doubt that any of us will feel the impact of Sandy.

For the second year in a row the east coast gets a storm for Halloween. I don't want kids to think this is the start of a new tradition.

Someone might've deleted a post. That can cause a thread to disappear.

The embed feature doesn't work for me either.

As a former hurricane survivor from my years on the east coast I'm humbled by the size of this storm as it nears the coast. Since my last post, Hurricane Sandy has turned into a storm unlike anything I've ever seen along the eastern seaboard states.

I can only assume that most east coast RetroJunkers are offline until Sandy is well gone later this week. My heart goes out to any and all facing down this massive storm.

My parents are in middle of north NJ. They are skeptical of any major problems hitting their area. Too many "severe weather warnings" over too many years. I was a little worried for them, but in a similar situation myself. We get a lot of warnings in my area too, that amount to jack spit. News updates at the moment still talk of preparations for their county, nothing that has actually happened.

UULDHsfZQ3bRY6Xz_GF2LYgQ is not a valid video ID, and neither is either one of those parts (before/after the underscore). I tried copying the URL and it came out as just http://www.youtube.com/feature=player_embedded. Odd...

EDIT: And the youtube tag doesn't seem to work within a quote block, to top it off. It keeps parsing the close tag outside of the quote.

I've tried it every which way. Its funny because some videos work and others don't. The feature worked fine a couple of weeks ago. Kinda like the resent activity feature.

I'll just post the link. This is a video I took around 5:00 am of hurricane Ike back in 2008. Turn the sound up.

In Hartford here. It's after midnight and the storm has mostly past. Still have power at my house, but almost half the state is dark right now. NJ and NYC got slammed. My friends have been uploading pics of the devastation all night. A few power plants in the city also exploded. It's crazy. Have not seen a storm like this... ever, I think. Where it's hitting, the size and intensity... We will see how much worse it is than Irene. For the moment, central CT seems to be the safest place to be.

Haha, I was kinda thinking the same thing! Our trick or treating might be cancelled two years in a row. We'll see. :?

Power was out most of last night and today. Just came back on but seems to be on and off for the time being. The storm itself was really windy, but not too bad here.

Looking at the storm's path it's like Sandy was searching out all the RetroJunkers it could find. I've been feeling like crap the last couple of days all full of worry about you guys. My Halloween spirit is kinda damp right now.

Fortunately, the chance of a 'Superstorm' like this is extremely remote. And even if it was, there's not a chance in hell you're gonna get some sort of relation between this & December 21!
