I think from the looks of the trailer with a cameo by Bruce Campbell plus the production team from the original, i think it could be decent or good.

Afterall a good horror movie remake is hard to find when there can be a gem or a dozen misfires only to tarnish the legacy of the original, so i found this article on how to make a good horror movie remake which is advice to the filmmakers out there who gave us the good, bad and Fog, LOL:

    http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/08/18/the-10-essential-rules-to-making-a-good-horror-remake

Anyone agrees with the rules, worst culprits and best examples?

I wish they could had added "Cat People" (1982)" and "Night of the Living Dead (1990)" on number 8 "Honor the Original" as additions since they fall in that rule.

Bruce Campbell confirmed that there will be no cameos or homages to the originals. But I guess the remake itself is one giant homage, it's almost the same.

      Here's the trailer

Do you like Moviefone's rules? and what do you think of the worst culprits, rules and best examples?

And do you think this could fall in number 8 and 3?

I disagree with them about Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. If anything it honors the original material far more than the previous movies did.

I can't imagine a CHUD remake turning out well. It is a great movie and modern sensibility just would not work on that story...
