(Often referred to as Baby Boomers) This surge in population growth was the greatest increase in US History (According to the 2012 US Census Data) If you do the math, you'll notice that 74.3% of Baby Boomers are over 65. This means the use of diapers used by elderly are far more numerous than you think.

Classifying them as such before those years have happened is besides the point. I was born in 1986, if a certified nostalgia expert predicted I would be a 90s kid, he would have been perfectly correct in doing so.

The interesting thing is that according to your definition, an 88er would have been 21 by the end of their childhood decade(an adult) whereas you were only 13 (barely a teenager) by the end of your childhood decade!! Makes no sense!! I don't see how 2 years makes such a massive difference that you ended up growing up in completely different decades!!

We're defining a decades...kid. Not adult, not baby, etc. A kid (According to the Ageus Institute) age span is from 5 to 11. Once puberty hits, you become an adolescent. Therefor, I am still correct.

But someone born in 88 was 5-11 in the 90s so they are 90s kids not 00s kids. An 89er spent the vast majority of the ages 5-11 in the 90s too. Here's some etymology for you. Try teenager. 88 and 89 are 00s teenagers not 00s kids.
