    		 I just want to start by saying I LOVE the character The Grinch. He's my favorite Dr. Seuss character. We have so much in common. I can relate to him. I grew up watching him in the original "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", "Halloween Is Grinch Night"(my favorite), "The Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat" and "The Wubbulous World Of Dr. Seuss".

    When I first saw the movie back in 2000 I loved it. Then...eight years later I went looking for reviews of it, and to my shock, dismay, and horror 90% of the reviews I read were bad!! Really bad!! I couldn't BELIEVE it!! I would have thought everyone loved it!! I wasn't fair!! Most of the reviews were written by mean, nasty, spoiled, immature butthurt trolls!! So much of the stuff they said was HORRIBLE!!

    It broke my heart!! I hate them!! I hate them so much!! The movie deserved MUCH more respect than it got. And still does!! The hate it gets to this day makes me want to throw a fit!! It also makes me want to beat the crap out of those hateful overzealous haters. I mean if they don't like the movie couldn't they at least be nice and mature about it, instead of butthurt?

      		 I know you're just trolling, but I'll bite. A lot of effort went into the movie, but it just wasn't a good movie. When people hate the movie, they do so for a very good reason. It's a bad movie. The cartoon is far,far better.
      Don't pay any attention to the evil spirited and dead of heart. They're not worth your time.

          No I'm not trolling. It's not like that. I'm just hurt and confused as to why the haters of this movie have to be so NASTY about it. I just don't understand.

                		 The writer's forum is definitely the wrong place for a thread like this, unless you're planning to write your own article about the hating.

                Regarding your complaint: First off, have you taken notice of the irony of complaining about people who act like grinches, in regards to a movie about a grinch? I mean seriously, doesn't "mean, nasty, spoiled, immature butthurt trolls" describe the grinch to a "T"?

                Personally, I find the movie to be "ok", but nothing more than that. The cartoon was infinitely better. The movie lost all of the charm of the cartoon, and changed all but the most fundamental elements of the story.
                I think the reason for the level of hatred most people give it is the betrayal they feel at a childhood favorite getting mucked up in such a manner. If the cartoon version had never existed, or if the movie had been about some completely different story, I think most people would have found it at least mediocre, and few people would outright hate it.

                  		 of course it's horrible. jim carrey as the grinch, and a whoooole bunch of filler just to turn a charming 20 minute christmas special into an hour long borefest. but hey, it's only slightly better than what they did with the cat in the hat. i think that one just got completely ignored

                    		 I actually kind of like the 2000 Grinch Film. It's not
                    the best film adaption but,I think it captures the spirit
                    of the original book. Now if you want a really bad Dr.Suess
                    Film adaption,The Cat In The Hat (2003) would be it. God
                    what a bad movie!

                      		 Funny, I actually liked the cat in the hat movie better than the grinch one. The cat in the hat movie felt more like an extended version of the cartoon, whereas the grinch movie felt like some total reinvention of the wheel. Maybe it's because the original cat in the hat never had much of a plot to begin with, so it was easy to expand on it with random stuff, without actually changing it at all. The grinch on the other hand had a clear & distinct plot throughout, so you can't really expand on it without changing it a great deal.

                      I have no idea how either the cartoon nor the movie compare with the book. I've never seen the book in the wild, and only ever even became aware of it a few years ago. All I'm familiar with with the grinch is the cartoon special that I've watched every single year since farther back than I can remember.

                        		 I have to say Jim carrey do a Good role as the Grinch in the 2000 movie. I also want to see it in movies. I cant believe they say it was a bad movie it was a really cute movie too see.
