E3 has been really lame so far. Nintendo's press conference today was a bust. I figured with the Wii U coming out this year, they would have some killer games to announce for it...but all they had was Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. Wii U (which is basically just New Super Mario Bros. Wii all over again).
Halo 4, Tomb Raider and The Last of Us all look badass. Everything else has been hit and miss. Forza Horizon, Gears of War Judgement and that PS3 game Beyond had nice teaser trailers but I wanted to see more and Sony didn't really do much to make the Vita a more enticing product for those who don't own one yet.
I was most disappointed by Nintendo though. New Super Mario Bros. U looks cool but they gave me no reason to consider getting a Wii U day one, it was a very underwhelming showing. They touted great third party support yet everything I've seen so far is just announcements for games I've either already played on 360 or PS3 or will be able to play on those consoles.
Yep, no new platform developments but Halo 4 is getting lots of buzz, guess that any updates are better than none, lol. Word is that new hardware advances are not driving the business anymore. I'm hearing that the future of game platforms is handheld and mobile. Also social games are the hot topic with developers.
