Punisher and Blade are still superheroes.

How would you rate The Punisher? He's also a Marvel hero but would you call him a 'Super' hero?

Technically, no he's a vigilante anti-hero. But if i'm going to give a straight answer, than yes he's a mainstream Marvel Comics super hero. He's involved with the rest of the universe.

Creepshow is never based on any comic as i said, No superhero movies and no homages to comics.

Then since Blade is a superhero, I would say my favorite non-superhero comic-book based movie is Casper as well as its one of its direct-to-video follow-ups, Casper Meets Wendy. It was the second (and final) straight-to-video follow-ups to the 1995 original, the other one (namely the first) being Casper: A Spirited Beginning, one that I didn't care for.

And do supervillain comic book-based movies count as non-superhero comic-book based films? I would say that Elektra would be my favorite in that nature.

Robocop is an original idea, not based on anything.

They're both mortal men, nothing super there. I would'nt even call punisher a hero, he's like an anti-hero and batman is the worlds greatest detective. Their Definetly not superheros.

I wish Locke & Key made it to production as a show. There was buzz a few years back and now that I've read some of the comic, I'm bummed that it never came to fruition.

At least Blade hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. That has to be my favorite non-superhero comic-book-based movie of all time. Now in similar terms Sarah Michelle Gellar needs to reprise her role as the titular character of Buffy The Vampire Slayer (she played it in the TV series) in a full-length motion picture.

I just thought of one, the smurfs.

I wonder if popeye would count? It wasn't based on comic -books-, but it was based on comic -strips-. (Popeye began as a character on "thimble theater", then became so popular that the strip was renamed to "popeye".)
