Well, the title says it all.

I'm looking to know if the Gameboy from 1989 only came in Gray, or if Nintendo produced it in many colors like they did 8 years later with the Game boy pocket.
I somehow have the souvenir that they produced it in different colors, but it might only be my imagination....

    Thank you,
    Andre

Later on in the early to mid 90's they released more Colors for the Classic Game Boy, and then in 1996 they Released GameBoy Pocket that also came in a Variety of Colors! :D

Would you happen to know the year when Nintendo produced their colord Game Boy (The classic ones, not the pocket one)
Or how many colors they produced?

Thanks again for that fast and informative reply

it was probably about 5 more colors added to the original grey color, Colors like Black, Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. as for the year they were released it may have been 1992 or 1993. :D

Edit:it seems that they also had a Classic GameBoy that was a Clear See Through One and here is a picture of it!

The only color'd handheld game system back in 1989 & 1990 was the Atari Lynx! ;)

It came in black, AND had a full color screen.
Gameboy was white/beige for the longest time until they unvieled "Gameboy Pocket" which was a smaller version of the same unit, but had multiple colors... and then I think it eventually followed up with Gameboy Color, and so forth.

Gameboy Pockets were too dark of a screen for me

But, yes the original GB DID come in several colors.

The Game Boy Light that I'm talking about was only released in Japan, it had an indiglo-colored backlit screen, not those Worm Lights nor other kinds of lights that you hook up to your Game Boy handhelds. Also, there is a Famicom-style GBA SP, and a Famicom GB Micro.

It came out in 1998. One of my friends had gotten one w/ a copy of Pokemon Blue version. Everybodt on my street was jealous b/c we had inferior Gameboy Pockets.
