Jurassic Park: The Game: Ok I admit it would have done better as it's own direct to DVD sequel or something, but I thought the game was well written, the new dinosaurs were well done and I like they explained what happened to the "Newman" cliffhanger.

Epic Mickey: I was pissed people didn't like this game, I thought it was an amazing heartwarming story and it gave me a new found love for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. And yes I admit it was a shame they didn't go with the initial darker designs, but still all things considered it was a well done game in my opinion.

This coming from a dork who got Gold & Silver the day they were released and grew up with them, goes to a site called Retro Junk, and thought FireRed and LeafGreen were pretty bad remakes. HeartGold & SoulSilver offer the ultimate Pokemon experience, and improve upon the originals in almost every conceivable way. So what if they turned Goldenrod City from a slow song into an upbeat jazzy remix, the music is still excellent and that doesn't ruin the entire fucking game.

I thought critics loved HG/SS. There were some who said that it was the best handheld game ever.

megaman x4. seriously this was far superior to the other megaman x games that followed after it. it came out in the same year as megaman 8 but it should feel right at home with anyone who's played the other installments. the only small downside is the voice acting

Whoa. I actually thought I was the only one who liked this game.

Well, I wasn't even alive when Zelda II and SMB2 came out, so I'll take your guys words for it. I did sort of figure they were games that would only be looked at in that regard in retrospect, because they are unarguably great games in themselves, but those kinds of criticisms that they're bad for straying too far from the series' standards have been abundant based on what I've heard.

I never heard anyone say anything bad about Mario 2 or Zelda 2 untill around 2004, now all I hear are people saying how bad they are. I doubt the complainers have even played them.

Agree with Deathtrap Dungon, not great but a fun game.

Sonic 2006 isn't good either, it's a mess, but worth a playthrough, it still somhow remains fun, though those on rails levels are annoying :x

Darkstone for PS1, am I th only perosn alive who even played this?

Brink, if you have some friends together it's a blast.

No way. I always liked it too. Some people give it a bad rap later, but they are a vocal minority. The game was actually very popular when it came out.

                          That's a hard one.

There was an old PS1 game called Grudge Warriors, which I have many fond memories of playing with my dad. It was called a horrible game.

The Army Men video game shaven't been well received, but I liked playing those too.

Here are some that, while they weren't all considered "bad," I happen to like a lot more than most.

Mother - Despite growing up with EarthBound, and the fact that EB and Mother 3 are considered the best in the series nearly unanimously (many fans say Mother's not even worth playing), I just enjoyed Mother the most for several reasons.

Pokemon: HeartGold & SoulSilver - A lot of fans say the original Gold & Silver versions were better. They weren't. They really, really weren't.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice For All - I don't think there are any fans of the series who dislike this game, it's just generally considered the worst of the Ace Attorney series. However, I enjoyed it more than Trials & Tribulations, which is most often regarded as the best or one of the best.

Super Mario Bros. 2 - My favorite Super Mario game ever, basically. A lot of people don't like it just because it's an edited version of another game, without taking into account the fact that Mario's creator had much more involvement with that game than the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, that it's better than the lazily made "level pack" that is the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, and that it's an excellent platformer in itself.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Maybe it's because it's the first Zelda game I played, but it's actually my favorite. Any Zelda fan will immediately understand why that sounds insane.

Sonic R - I don't know why everybody hates this game... it's so fun and relaxing to me, and I can just get lost in it and play for hours. I guess the controls take some getting used to and the character roster is kinda lame, but otherwise it's a fun experience.

That's all I can think of for now.

Were there any games that you played that you personally loved, but critics didn't and gave it a low rating?

BATMAN FOREVER on the SNES....not just the critics - everyone seems to hate it,but it holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first games i owned for the console.I used to have so much fun playing it with friends back in the 90s...great times.
