I'd have to agree with the above...perhaps he may have spooked you, but you deserved it.

Say you sent something to someone and they never paid you money for it, wouldn't you be irked?

EBay is just nuts. I have tons of auctions won under my belt, i havent sold yet but I always pay on time, only bid on paypal auctions and i always send it within like an hour or 2 of winning the auction. I've had maybe 3 or 4 people never give me the item and never relpy, so then i have ebay and paypal check it out and luckily all of them returned in my favor and my money was returned to my account. I'm also afraid of selling for these very reasons, of people not paying. I am a man of my word, I wish everyone else was too.

But yea he may have creeped you out, and he could've said "hi this is so and so, You won an eBay auction from me and I just wanted to know if you sent out the payment yet" he didnt have to be an ass and say "where's my money?" would ANYONE honestly NOT hang up if some random guy called and said that? But yea, you shouldn't bid if you wont remember to pay within 24 hours, which most sellers have as a stipulation. I'll personally only allow paypal when I sell items, easier to track than waiting for a money order, plus i hate having to cash those things almost as much as i hated buying them before I got paypal setup

Ebay is full of creepy people and even half.com (which is owned by Ebay) has some crooks. There was one guy on half.com I bought a DVD from. He did good business for a while, but then suddenly shut down his store, stiffing about 50 people out of DVDs, keeping the money. Luckily the Consumer Relations sent my money back, and the cheater got his store taken off.

I haven't trusted ebay after someone stole my dad's credit card from paypal. We actually had to cancel his card. I haven't bought anything from ebay since.

I buy stuff off Ebay very very infrequently. I have an account, but usually I just browse. No matter how positive the responses are for a particular seller, I'm super cautious. Ebay is sort of like a security blanket for me. If there's something that I'm looking for, I'll search for it on Ebay to see if it's around in case I absolutely have to have it at some point.
I am deranged, but so, so playful!

But I had to reply to this.

The main reason I dont support buying ANYTHING off ebay is that you have NO WAY of knowing what they send you is what they avertised.

                    Example Given:

Friend of mine bought three jeweler rolls (For those of you who dont deal in diamonds, diamonds are kept in a "special" roll of fabric which has pockets that hold the diamonds. These are known as jewelers rolls and are to allow a jeweler easy selection of the gem they are going to use in whatever jewelry they are making.)

Anywho he didnt pay, he took them to a jeweler for a extament, he put them in a special machine which uses a lazer to determine clearity, measures the cuts, angle of the cuts, takes a profile image for insurance purposes and stone reconition should it be stolen..etc.

Turns out they were man made, in other words FAKES! I dont recall how much that ebay seller lost, but when it comes to somethin like that I totalie SUPPORT not paying. I know if I ever buy anything off ebay, I will NOT pay tell I have what I want in my hands, look over it closely to make sure..

A: It is what I wanted.

B: It is in the condition stated 100%

                    C: It works.

                    D: Everything listed is there.

If that criteria is not fallowed, then I would simply not pay, due to false advertising, and I would NOT ship it back either for the fact that..

A: I already paid shiping and handling for the junk to be sent to me.

B: I aint going to pay to have it shiped back.

C: The fault is not mine that what I recieve is junk.

The guy had the nerve to call him, I got on the phone told him they were fake. He CLAIMS he didnt know they were fake. But he registered the diamonds as GRADE:A flawless genuine pink diamonds. Claims they had a certificate (Like the one I stated above.) but they did not come with any such thing, furthermore I surmized this would be the case since he would have to have one for EVERY stone, there were quite a few "chips" (small stones made to set off a larger center stone in a ring.).

So when it comes to buying, if what you got wasnt what he offered then to bad for him, IF however it was what he offered, then shame on you.

And Sellers, if your going to sell something, SELL what you advertise, dont turn around and go. "Oh this action figure which goes to this I can sell seperatly for more so even thou I advertised it with that and the bid is closed, im just not going to ship it they wont notice." Cause if you do, and it some how (which is beyond me.) is me, you wont get paid.

I havnt bought anything from ebay nor plan to its to easy to get jiped.

                    Example Given:

                    Offering working NES

Recieves nes, hooks up dosnt work, calls seller

                    "Yea it dosnt work."

Seller: "OH must got damaged in shiping sorry to bad for you."

Theres nothing you can do if some one sells you something that isnt as advertised, sueing them will cost ten times more then what it is you bought. So there ya go, word to the wise.
                    Peace ta da masses!

One thing that gets on my nerves is when a seller sidesteps, ignors, stalls and takes their sweet time shipping your item, particularly if you've paid for USPS Priority. Normally, I use PayPal for all of my won auctions, and pay immediately. I've had to wait up to four weeks for an item I've paid for in seconds. We're not talking Amazon or Tiger Direct commerce and shipping delays here, just something a guy's got in him home and wants to get rid of. If it's impossible to take 15 minutes out of the day to wait in line at the post office, why bother selling?

I sold some items on ebay a little while ago. 2 out of the 3 I sold, the person didn't send the payment. So I just kept the games. Never send anything out unless you get the payment. I got pretty pissed when the buyers didn't send payment, I even contacted one, so it gets on my nerves. I now only buy from people that have %100 feedback and I don't sell.

two seconds later he called back and left an eerie message saying 'well, i know your there.. you just dont want to pay for this!!.. i'll just have to leave negative feedback.

i had no idea sellers could call you, but it makes sense... ebay does ask for your phone number when you register.

                          ew.

He got your phone number from your name and address. Its simple go to Yahoo people search and type it in then a click and your stalker bait.

How do you know that? An ebay can't give out phone numbers.

You can request user info from eBay during a dispute case. That usually includes a full name, address, e-mail and telephone number.
