Wrestlingfan I agree & here is one thing i want to point out to all of you guys Family Guy is a copy of The Simpsons for one thing & Family guy steals other shows jokes & portrays certain things in a negative light & that is not funny :x i remember when it showed Bugs Bunny & Elmer Fudd & Elmer fudd shot bugs & cracked his neck WOW? there goes my childhood  you guys may say its just a joke but all i see is a character i love being killed before my eyes that is sick.

      You can say that again.
Garfield: "My car is so old, that it's insured against theft, flood, fire and dinosaur stampedes!"

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!

IMO, none of the sitcom style cartoons are funny anymore. south park is probably still funny but i just havent been keeping up with it for a while.

South Park is actually funnier than both shows combined.

I think it was funnier when they relied on clever jokes rather than shock humour but I still watch it and ignore the "edgy" jokes.

As to what other people do, what I like about what's going on in animation since "The Simpsons" came along is that there are a few dozen series out there that look like nothing else -- they have their own pacing, they have their own point of view, they have their own style. Now, there's a certain kind of Dumb Dad with Family template, but I don't blame the animators so much as the executives who can't think of anything else but trying to copy that template -- which by the way isn't original with our show. What Seth MacFarlane has done with his shows is not an imitation of "The Simpsons"; it completely goes its own direction, and good for him. If it were, it wouldn't have lasted.

I never felt Family Guy was a copy of the Simpsons. I felt that it was inspired by it, though.

It's the manatees and Seth's political and religious agenda being very heavy handed in the show.

As someone who enjoys political humor and agrees with that "agenda" , I can assure you that there are many other things to ruin the show.

This. It just really gets annoying when a show becomes the writers' own personal soapbox. Even though I do actually agree with Seth on some of his points it's just the holier than thou, heavy handed way he goes about delivering it. Also the manatee gags. The show just seems little about the actual story and more about cutaway gags, overindulgent 80s pop culture references, and celebrity cameos.

It would be so much better without religion, politics, and sex jokes.

The show follows the same formula now

Peter finds a new hobby or something > takes it too far > unrelated jokes/plot points > end

Also I can't help but feel the show has become Seth's political mouthpiece, just some medium to spread his own political views and propaganda.

They need to stop making so many "Brian finds a girl" episodes.

I haven't really been keeping up with Family Guy on Fox lately, due to The Walking Dead being on at the same time slot, but I doubt I've been missing much.

I think Seth MacFarlane's into bestiality. He probably fucks in a dog suit.
