This is just a rumor as of now, but IGN says they have a source that's reporting that Microsoft's next Xbox system will not play used games, forcing gamers to have to buy all their games brand new and factory sealed.

As crazy as this may sound, I could picture Microsoft being greedy enough to do something like this. I'd imagine in order to make this work, they would have to make it so each individual game comes with a specific code, like the registration number. Once you enter the code into your system over Xbox Live or you register your game, it becomes unlocked and your system can play it...and ONLY your system can play it. Try to play your game on someone else's Xbox 720, and it will not work. If you try to enter your game's code on someone else's system, Microsoft's database will show that the code has previously been entered on another system, and it will be rejected. This is how they would prevent people from buying previously owned games.
If this rumor turns out to be true...than I will avoid the Xbox 720 like the plague. Unless Microsoft lowers all of their brand new games down from $60 to $40 or $30.
