Its a cool game but its too difficult. I could never beat it because they don't give you enough lives.

I never had the game as a kid but I saw it at my local Exchange store the other day when I was browsing for a copy of Trainspotting. I remember the Limited Edition Red Cartridge and that was the version I saw the other day. Even though never had the game as a kid and I didn't really care for the rom of the game when I tried it, I should've bought it anyway given that the Red Cartridge would be a neat oddity to have in my Sega Genesis game collection.

I used to have it for the Genesis. Now I have it for the SNES.

I rented the SNES version back around the time it came out (the red cartridge caught my eye), and the genesis version on the sega channel.
It was an "ok" game. Rather disappointing though because I was expecting something great and wound up with something that was just standard.
There's also the fact that it was nearly identical to the seperation anxiety game.

Played the SNES version recently on ZSNES. Couldn't believe how difficult that game is. I guess I'll try the Genesis version on Fusion and see how its difficulty compares itself with the SNES.

Update: I played the Genesis version of Maximum Carnage on Fusion and got through the first level smoothly, despite losing several lives. However, I struggled on the second level, that is "The Climb". It's just that when your playing the Genesis version, climbing to the top of one building to another can be very tricky. So IMHO, no matter what version of the game you are playing, either the Genesis version or the SNES version, Maximum Carnage can be a very challenging game to play.

I remember playing this game when I was younger. It was a tough game I think I've only managed to beat it twice. That second to last level where you had to fight for waves after waves was hard. I remember saving up all my superhero assist points (or whatever you want to call it) just for that part.

I could never beat it, it was a fun game though.

I used to have trouble with the level where you're supposed to climb to the rooftops. Not so much now. It's all about concentration. :)
