I hated the arcade game, the controls didn't work at all. You would tell him to turn right, but he would go left or straight instead. This happened with every machine I encountered, so I know it wasn't just a brokne machine. I guess maybe you had to hit it at prcisely the right milisecond or something.

I did enjoy the short lived TV series though. Does anyone else remember that? Just before each commercial break dirk would get into trouble & have 2 or 3 options to try to get out, the audience would be asked what dirk should do, then when they came back dirk would first do all the wrong choices, then the right one.

Yea have to agree with the fact that there was literally noooo controlling Dirk for shit. The Damn thing to play costed a dollar were I would go to I hated that. I really recall only one time ONE TIME getting out of that kitchen on to the horse, I never did again. From what I know there was timing involved and objects light up insinuating that it's time to hit this object or move in this direction. But there was nothing and noone around to tell you that.I remember coloring books that my mom would get me in 1st grade.

Might want to check this fan page forum out also it's pretty cool.

Also I remember playing the SNES verson nothing at all like the arcade of course. It's for the Wii now I contemplated buying it, they say you now have control.

This is a quite common complaint of the game. It did require accurate timing for each move.

Most of the home versions that came out before the early 90's were either poorly adapted or bad recreations with the same characters. Thankfully technology caught up with the demands of the game, but even then there are versions with missing scenes and/or different moves. Arcade accuracy has always been sought out by the fans. The releases coming out now are significantly more accurate.

Yea there's TONS of versions I saw that on that fan site. It seriously seems like for every console theres Dragons Lair game. But according to that site the best one like no nonsense it has the orginal arcade experince on all three platforms, even extras and deleted material including Space Ace, is this one.

But I already checked out the Wii version it seems alright I just hate how it doesn't have part three on it.

I was talking about the one for the Wii.

I've already got it since then it's actually really not that bad I've been playing. It feels exactly the same I like it.
