Thought I would start a thread on this, as this will be the big story this year. I'm curious if anyone here has been paying attention to this, or what your opinions are on the 2012 race?
I have been watching most of these GOP presidential candidate debates, but I haven't thrown my support behind any particular person yet. I like a lot of the stuff Newt Gingrich has been saying in the debates, but I don't think he would stand a chance against Obama come November. He just has some bad history behind him, and many people find him to be a very unlikeable guy. Romney will most likely end up being the nominee. I don't like Romney's history of flip-flopping on issues, but he definitely has the experience to be president (and I guess it's near impossible to find a politician who doesn't flip-flop on issues anyway, sadly). As for Ron Paul and Rick Santorum...neither one has a chance at becoming the nominee. And if you haven't really been paying much attention, the other candidates such as Rick Perry, Michelle Bachman, John Huntsman, and Herman "999" Cain have dropped out. It's basically come down to Romney vs Gingrich now.
