    		 I remember how he almost always acted useless, and even detrimental to gameplay. I was playing Sonic 3 with one life, then I was underwater in Carnival Night. The drowning music started playing, and when I saw the air bubble, Tails stole it.

    I got a game over. :x


    Though he DID beat a hard boss for me.

        		 I did hate it when that little wretch would steal air bubbles, but beyond that I wasn't bothered by him. I viewed him as a free extra gun. He could attack enemies on the other side of the screen from you, give you more hits against bosses, and was effectively immortal. Sure, he often died, but he always came back an unlimited number of times. The best tactic was to lure him into fighting the boss whileyou found a safe corner to hide.

          		 I loved Tails!! He's one of my all-time favorite Sonic characters. I could never hate him, even back then. ^_^

              I love Tails: He's my favourite Sonic character.

              But he did more bad than good to me when I played with both Sonic and Tails together.

              I did however, love playing with him solo.

                		 Miles "Tails" Prower is my favorite Sonic character (Knuckles is my other favorite just behind tails). Like thecrow said, he is essential to the series.

                    		 the only time that i've ever hated tails by my side is in the special stages in sonic 2. the little fucker takes so long to stay with you and is a direct target for those bombs, so unless you put the option to "sonic only" you'll be needing to memorize where all of the ring trails are by heart

                      		 Hahah. Oh those times how he (I thought Tails was a girl...) would mess me up on collecting rings during Special Stages and just being dumb in a cute way. I think he was the reason I love foxes. Too friggin' cute.

                          		 Despise Tails? I would never. He may not be as fast as Sonic, but Tails can sure as heck fly when you choose him in Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
