Turning to stone in mid-air was a fun trick.

Another one that was comparable to the frog suit was karibu's (sp?) shoe. Granted, it was useful for walking on spikes & such, but again you had the hopping issue, plus you couldn't even keep it into the next level. (On the plus side though, at least you could still use whatever attacks you had.)

OH yeah! The boot! I'm a dork, but I used to like the boot in the same way as I did the frog suit.

When SMB3 game came out, I imagined myself all grown up, married to the girl I had a crush on (she liked video games!) Living in a mansion and playing this game (and only this game) on a big screen TV that takes up a whole wall. I thought no game could ever be bigger or have better graphics. It would keep me entertained for ever and ever. It was the last, ultimate, greatest game ever and nothing could ever top it. Funny how it's true today, but in a very different way than I thought then.

At the same time, SMB3 was released in Japan a year and a half before it was released in America. This led to so much playground talk about how Japan already had Super Mario 8 and 128 bit graphics.

one of the best games ever made in my opinion, they just don't make them like they used to.

I remembered being hyped up for this when i was 7 reading it in Nintendo Power magazine and saw The Wizard in theaters which had a nice sneek preview of this game.

I had some christmas money saved from realtives and bought it on the first day and became my fave NES game. Still a masterpiece even on SNES and gameboy advanced.

A timeless classic! who else had the merchandise including the Mcdonalds stuff?

I was never aware of SMB3 until I actually got a copy. I hadn't seen any ads or anything for it. I had seen the wizard, but never took notice of SMB3 in it. At the time I just figured it was some mocked up game made just for the scenes in the movie, probably not even playable, just an animation. By the time I did get a copy of the game, I had long forgotten about it being in the movie. In fact, it wasn't until pretty recently that I realized it.

There's no denying Super Mario Bros. 3, it's my favourite Mario game for the NES. Not to mention that it's my overall favourite Mario title next to Super Mario World as well.

I've had fond memories playing this when I was 7 or 8 years old, I wasn't a pro back then. I'm much better at this game these days, and I still play it every now and then.

I even had the merchandise especially the Mcdonalds toys and watched the cartoon, i played the game on Spring break and even beaten it. Such a masterpiece of a game!

That's funny, the only reason I wanted to see that movie was because SMB3 was in it.

I thought it was awesome with that sneak preview of this game on the big screen.
