My earliest was Pole Position II at Aladdin's Castle, I could kick ARSE on the Fuji and Seaside Course if I remember right.
A little later I discovered Klax, which I was drawn to because of the teeny cabinet. I was only about 9-10 years old and I was already dwarfing the Klax arcade cabinet, I remember playing klax and having back pain from bending forward for so long, I could probably stand on my knees and play it at my height now.
At Chuck E. Cheese, it was Pole Position II, VS. Super Mario Bros. (which I kicked arse at as I played the normal version religiously at home), and of course, that darn ski-ball machine. Forget the rat, forget that creepy animatronic band, heck, forget the pizza, I wanted to play!
Went to some summer Band thing, lo and behold, they had a video arcade downstairs at the dorms. I pumped the most quarters into Pole Position, Ms. Pac-Man, and Asteroids. Really funny that place was, they had a Playboy pinball machine, and one time I went past when the arcade was closed, and there the owner was playing it with the doors locked
Cruisin USA and Cruisin World were another pair after they came out, I played those a lot.....but the one to eat up the most quarters ever.....
HARD DRIVIN'! Why, because it had a stick shift, no other car sim at the time had one (this was the days of Pole Position and Rad Racer). It was the only machine in the whole arcade that needed $1 in coinage to play. It had it all, a stick shift, a key, if the graphics were on par with today, it would have been the ultimate car simulator for me.
