Unlike other classic cartoons (like tom & jerry or bugs bunny), the original era is actually one of the least familiar to me. I don't think I had seen any of the fleischer ones prior to cartoon network's "late night black & white" show.
I wonder why popeye hasn't had a new series since the 80s? Tom & jerry, looney tunes, disney, etc have all had more recent shows.
I watched The All-New Popeye Hour on Cartoon Network when I was 7 to 11 years old in the early to mid-2000's, the show called The All-New Popeye Show because the title of the show is changed for television syndication after it ended on CBS in 1983.
