The ITC "Rainbow Top" logo scares the shit out of me to this very day. I hate it.

Reg Grundy Productions - Shown after Scrabble, Sale of the Century, and Wipeout. I'd cover my ears AND hum loudly just before it was time for it to pop up.

    Operation Prime Time

Paramount's "Closet Killer" theme and logo

Paramount's "Blue Mountain" logo used throughout the late 70's and early 80's. This logo AND the Operation Prime Time logo occured at the end of Solid Gold, which often sent me flying out of the room.

MGM Home Video logo from the 80's - The theme also had the heavy brass fanfare

I remember that one too. Back in the early 70's, Paramount had that logo used after the end credits for "The Odd Couple", "The Brady Bunch" where it says "Paramount Television" next to the logo where it zooms in and "Star Trek" was originally used the same zoom next to "Paramount Television" on the left where the logo zoomed into the blue mountain logo and the copyright thing on the bottom.[/quote]

I remember that, I have that logo from the "West Side Story" VHS tape. No lion roars was heard, just brassy fanfare.

I found this post from WileECoyote from Big Cartoon Database Forum about the Walt Disney Home Video "Classics" logo:

At the beginning, we just see the FBI previews (before it became "Anti-Piracy Warning" where it currently appears on the screen), then the animated "Walt Disney Classics" title sequence plays (and no, it's not the Fantasia Mickey version)...

It had some weird music at the beginning. I have that logo from the original "Lady and the Tramp" VHS tape. I hope the DVD would be better if it comes out Tuesday.

Plus, the "Walt Disney Home Video" logo with a silouette Mickey in neon lights. The logo was originally "Walt Disney Home Entertainment" in the beginning. With lousy fanfare music. That brought back memories.

            8)/thumbnail.gif">

The 1987 "Walt Disney Home Video" with the Fantasia mickey had this logo.

            Wow! That brought back memories.

*whew* I thought I was the only person that was scared of that. I'd run out of the room and cover my ears when that came on. The head that cracks up at the end scared me more than anything else (what's sad is I think that's the guy on the show, though I never made the connection). To this day, if I'm caught off-guard and see it unexpectedly, I still jump a bit inside, lol.

Now I just find the whole opening more Monty Python-esque than anything.

The DFS Program Exchange logo creeped me out a bit, mostly due to the music, which sounds like a ringing fire bell.

ok I'll jump on the band logo and say the Smoking Hot potato logo from the show of the same name. It was when the Logo took up damn near the whole screen and the logo is smoking, I'd have to hide my eyes or somthing.

Now it's cool but to a 3year old, terror

I was never really scared, but under certain conditions some of them would produce a case of the creeps.....

If it was a particularly quiet day around the house or if it was dark and everybody was asleep, for years that old PBS logo with the drippy 70's synths used to turn my mind into "ready to freak" mode.

This is CBS used to bug me sometimes too. I used to also not like the CBS movie special thing fromt he early 80's with all that excessive precussion. Now I think all that stuff is kinda funny and cool, go figure, but then I've grown fond of scary stuff for some reason.

I remember seeing the Sesame Street sketch "a count of 10" as a kid and thinking it was not a part of sesame street due to all the trippy sounds and noises.

as for most aggrivating theme song, I can't name the show, but it was some kind of mystery/drama type show. I recall when I first moved to crapabama in 87' we stayed at Motel 6 for months on end, and were in room 106. One night they moved us to room 107, where I had a hideous nightmare about some theme song that I knew from some T.V. show, but I can no longer remember it. My demented mind had an amazing capacity to be really graphic, and lets just say ghosts, monsters, and creepy looking people were invovled. Ever since I was TERRIFIED of room 107, especially since I remember it being empty most of the time.

Oh, and then there were those crazy backers Credits from Sesame Street, blue background with white letters, and the Ford Foundation listed up at the end. They later changed it to black and white and shortened it.

Some of the same junk with computer generated text screens and odd backing music like the Weather Channel put me in a weird mood too.

I used to be freaked out by video box covers and heavy metal album covers! The boxes for evil dead, faces of death (not the current grim reaper ones, these had some creepy zombie surgeon), dead end drive end, demons, nightmare on elm st. 1, sleepaway camp, and blood beach in paticular, and the album covers of quiet riot, slayer, megadeth, w.a.s.p., venom, and iron maiden in paticular (though ive since become a big fan of all those bands except venom)
