Most individuals born in the 60's are technophobes or technologically impaired. That or probably have more important things to do than reminisce here [on a forum full of "youngsters" in their eyes].

Not sure about that. I know tons of people born in the 40s, 50s and 60s who use technology a lot.

Did you know that Steve Jobs was born in 1956?

LOL Steve Jobs is a special case. Most of the time when I hear 60s crowd people talk about technology they say they don't wanna deal with it.

Although, the 60s are beyond retro, most people here, including myself would feel better if we just had the 70s, 80s, and 90s sections.

I don't know, tell Vertex about it.

Hey randomuser2349, what do fondly remember from that time period? And i'm not talking about what you've read or heard.

Most people here are late 60's onward. So there is little to no real life experiences to talk about.

According to his profile, he was born in 1994, so it'll be hard for him to come up with an answer.

My point exactly because, personally, I can't fully relate to a decade where I wasn't around. 8)

Ask someone born after the 60s to remember the 60s?

And strangely enough, there are quite a few people on YouTube rambling about how the 50s were awesome and how the 60s ruined everything.

My dad is a tekkie born in 56 lol! I think the world was smaller for kids in the 50's and 60's. Everything was more localized and exclusive to the part of the country you lived in, the town you grew up or the neighborhood you live in. Half of the stuff my Dad talks about before the seventies would be lost on anyone that didn't grow up around where he lived or know the people he was talking about. Does that make any sense?

Those people you are referring to were either around during that time or just someone probably expressing their thoughts from an economic, social, political or whatever viewpoint of how we've found ourselves here today.

I dunno, maybe you should a thread on the same I don't think anyone is stopping you.

Thats a good question. I wondered that myself. I guess it's too retro, kind of like how the 2000's isnt retro enough.

But that doesn't stop so many of the users on here who were born in the '90s from wishing they were back in the '80s. I have noticed that a lot of the people on here who bitch about the modern age weren't actually born in the decade they so long for.

                                Yah I noticed that also.

Anyone can start a 'roaring 20's' section if you like. Thing is that most will be visiting Wikipedia instead of real life experience kind of answers. Then again this forum is also filled with nostalgic 16 year olds...

Why does everything have to be an issue? OP says 'just wondering.' Maybe it's just a discussion.

There was a lot of cool stuff in the 60s, like this

I think I forgot the original point I set out to make, namely that there's not a lot of specifically 60s interest here. I bet there's more interest in the 70s, than in all prior decades combined...and more in the 80s than in the 70s and 90s together. A 60s section would probably languish. Few if any people here are going to have older commercials than that to post. There's four pages of 70s cereal commercials and 17 pages of 80s cereal commercials. Not least because VCRs were not common in homes before the 80s, and that's probably a big source of files here, right? Peoples' old tapes that they dig up to watch, and decide to capture and upload them. Also, in the later periods there was also this critical mass of pop culture that became...self-aware, in a way. Maybe a section for 60s and earlier would be cool...although I wouldn't hold my breath for it to be added.

It kind of puzzles me that the original poster wants a 60s section when he hasn't even seen the 60s. :?

It doesn't puzzle me lol. But it would be a cycle of why don't we have a 1800s section or a 15th century section?
