remember the movie "The Wizard" and how it gave a preview of "Super Mario Bros 3"? but what i'm trying to remember is.. was SMB3 out before The Wizard or after? it would make sense for it to be out after.. but i can't remember.

also, the wizard was and still is an incredible movie.

The movie came out before the game did. The movie was released in 1989, and Super Mario Bros. 3. was released on Feb 12, 1990. It's true that it makes sense for it to have come out before, because it seems to be one big commercial for Nintendo rather than a movie. However, I cant deny that it's one of my all time favorite movies, and I was very excited when i found it used on VHS at a video store for $2 a few months ago.

It was one big Nintendo commercial, but I enjoyed it a lot as a kid. I remember seeing it in theatres the day it opened. They gave away a free special issue of Nintendo Power at the theatre I went to. I haven't seen it for years now. Wasn't that red head you mentioned also in The Goonies? Played Andie?

I hope The Wizard comes to DVD someday. I would snag a copy of it.

IMDb has it listed as being on DVD in Germany. Amazon.de probably has a copy to buy, but it will probably be a diffrent regional code than the US.

I lucked out and got it for 1 dollar at a local pawn shop, only a couple weeks after my cousin had called me on the phone to brag how he had found it for 1 dollar at his local pawn shop.

Yeah, they need to put it on DVD. There are tons of European DVDs of The Wizard on Ebay...most of them in English and multi-regional. However, I don't know how good the quality on them is. They all might have been taken directly off a VHS copy of the movie for all I know.

And please don't ask Nintendo about it, ask Mattel, they are responsible for it.

i like how the mario 3 game was brand new no one knew about it yet when jimmy found a whistle the red head says thats a whistle now he can warp anywhere. nintendo would rather give a tip than keep continuity.
