    		 Anyone else encounter these cash registers before? They are becoming more and more common at gas stations and quicky marts. Whenever the store clerk scans an item, they make the noise from Sonic the Hedgehog when you collect a ring.

    I read on the internet somewhere that there is are cash registers that makes the Mario Bros. coin noise, but I have never encountered one of those before, and I can find no videos of one.

      		 Yeah, that's something I've noticed at this local Shell gas station that's around my local area. I was ordering something there, and I heard the sound from Sonic. I thought for a minute that it was custom made to make it sound like that until I realized there was other gas stations that did the same thing.

          		 this has actually been happening for a couple of years now. one of my local gas stations had a cash register with the 1-up sound from super mario bros.

            		 Recently, I've been to a couple BP gas stations around my area that have cash registers which do make the ring noise from Sonic. Never have I heard of any places with cash registers that make the coin or 1UP sound from Super Mario Bros. like Benjanime said.

                          		 I've heard this as well. The first time I thought to myself, "what the heck?" I've heard it several more times. It's just too bad a lot of people probably don't remember where that sound came from.
                          All of this Political Correctness junk is going to turn me into a modern day Archie Bunker before I turn 30.

                            		 I heard this sound once at a Gas Station by my cousin's apartment in Columbus back in May when I was making a cigarette and Monster run after the first day of a big rock festival down there. I thought I was hallucinating too seeing as I was completely exhausted after moshing and running and walking and jumping and screaming all day long. It was the best day of my life though because I got to see my favorite band of all time, Korn like 50' from the stage and I also met the lead singer Jonathan Davis and got his autograph at the Monster Energy trailer there at the event. God if I'd only known he would be there I would've brought my favorite Korn album with me, Life Is Peachy. Anyway, after going off on a tangent to make a long story short, I heard the Sonic ring at this gas station and my cousin who was with me honestly thought it was my phone because I have the Sonic ring sound for my text messages sometimes.
