K-Tel have been pumping out albums like this since the early 80's. They call their series Mini Pops.

    The horror....the horror:

Just for my own morbid curiosity I checked out the track listing for the Kidz Bop Beatles album. Budget Beatles tribute albums usually feature exclusively McCartney written songs most of the time. I see on the Kidz Bop release exactly one George song, one John song, two John and Paul co-writes and everything else is solid McCartney.

I thought of making a parody of the Kidz Bop Commercials and have one called Kidz Bop Heavy Metal, where kids sing songs by Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, and AC/DC! (The Kidz Bop Kids would call "Highway to Hell", "Highway to Heck").

I just hope the Kidz Bop People don't read this...they may get ideas!

Yes, because corporate executives CONSTANTLY roam around the likes of RetroJunk.com to find the latest and greatest ideas for awesomeness!

No...They Better Not!...I'll Make the commercial parody first before that!

In the 80s commercial it looks like they covered a Madness song. There is a Madness album parody picture on it.

That's not likely to happen. Those three groups aren't what most people consider to be pop music.

Outside of the late Micheal Jackson of course.

Michael Jackson is the only true pop star there is.

I don't think it's the kids who keep buying kidz bop, I think it's the parents looking for something they believe to be "safe" for their kids to listen to. If the kids chose their own music, they'd be far more likely to seek out the ones with parental advisery warnings.

Someone should make an anti-kidz bop album. Have it be traditional kid songs like farmer in the dell, but done as death metal.

I've looked up a few Kidz Bop songs, and it's kind of hit or miss. Some songs are okay, some are utterly atrocious.
