I miss that old games weren't about graphics, gimmicks, and gore. They had lovable characters and instead of playing for achievements and online "fame" you played the games for the thrill and love of the game. Kids today have no idea what amazing games we had...ahhhhh

When all the games were cartridges instead of CD format.

Cartridges were so simple. You didn't have to worry about scratches, and you could blow on them if there was a problem.

Some of the oldest Genesis carts are almost 24 years old and still work. I think some of my oldest games are Altered Beast, Outrun, Rambo III, and Thunder Force 2. A little rubbing alcohol and they're as good as new. Nowadays if you so much as look at a disc the wrong way it gets scratched or causes the system to have a "disc read error"...sigh...what a shit fest...lol

THE MUSIC ! ! ! Audio in general back during the "REAL CONSOLE WAR" Between SNES and Sega OMG That was awesome they had limited technology to work with unlike alot of the sound editing softwares that are available today, so it forced them to become even more creative. "MAN" ingame audio tracks were soooo unique all to themselves I still download old video game songs to date. I've noticed my sons don' t really talk about the music in games as much as compared to my friends and I when I was younger. There was THE STAGE WAS AWESOME AND THE MUSIC MAN ! ! ! Some of favs right here.

Actually, to be quite honest ... I miss the difficulty. Today's games are too easy ... they can be master in one day or so.
