I think the fact that those games had time limits is what did me in. That would also explain why I was able to complete "Super Mario Brothers 2". Actually, you can add the fact that you could play as other characters, each one of which was good for a different level. The first and third games didn't have that option.

pepsiru1es92 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 1142	Same here, I've been playing the original Super Mario a lot recently, and even though I've beaten it on the Game Boy Color (with continues), I havent gotten past 7-1 on the NES since I started playing it again.

I wrote down the password, but lost it, and never got around to giving it another go. Shadowgate. I got past the troll, and the two bridges, but I don't remember if I got further or what happened after that.

Neomysterion 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 197	Blaster Master- Main reason why is that I keep on messing up in the last level with all of those deathtraps. Ninja Gaiden (NES)- Pretty obvious, that game and the other two of the trilogy are hard to beat in general.

You're supposed to exceed the Borderline Score in all 10 of the regular stages to get to Stage 11. Also, I tried beating Whomp 'Em for the NES, but could get past the final level for that, too many enemies spawning over there.

Double Dragon I and II For the NES I didn't finish either of them. TMNT the orginal for the NES DAAAMN that game was crazy hard. And Eternal Champions for the Sega Genesis. Same thing have it again and still kicks my butt. it wasn't until all these years later I looked up all the endings on the tube to these games and the worst was TMNT thats a horrible ass ending, I'm glad I didn't beat it.

At least, I managed to finish Zelda a Link to the Past this year. There are probably more games I nearly finished, but I don't recall them right now...
