        		 Pokemon came out in America in 1998, not 1996. Honestly, if I were you, I'd just get a 3DS and buy stuff through the Virtual Console service... of course, I guess getting a regular Game Boy would be cheaper.

            		 I remember I had a paper route, in an affluent area. So gameboy came out and I went to Toy's R Us and bought the basic pack and as well the Mario game.

                  1.) Searching around for promotions can yield the 3ds for a few dollars over $200. When I purchased mine recently I received 5% right off the top plus a $25 gift card. Saving almost $40.00 solidified the deal.
                  2.) The VC service is rather poor at this current time. Of course it takes time but Nintendo could have done a better job for the release. Lets get some more of the Metroid and Zelda titles available as well as some of the Classic NES Series.

                        For me, they just need to release Pokemon Red & Blue on the 3DS Virtual Console.

                                  		 The only thing I didn't like about Game Boy was that the screen didn't light up, so you couldn't play it in a dark room, unless you had someone stand behind you with a flashlight.

                                      		 The old Game Boy? I never owned one, but I do own a Game Boy Colour though.
                                      I wouldn't buy myself an old Game Boy since they consume more batteries than its successors.
